I paint with the aim of aesthetically capturing the theory of the sublime, that which we perceive to be powerful, limitless and beyond us. I do this by harnessing a materials natural process to create an entropic formation of composition and pattern, something beyond my control. By using heat, I aid the chemical reaction between the resin and pigment. New colours, shapes and patterns form which are fixed into place as the resin hardens, making the process quick and full of energy. With additional concepts of colour and scale the resin creates powerfully striking, emotive and breathtaking artworks which I go on to alter or capture through the use of light and photography.
